I love Rice Krispie Treats. I seriously think I enjoy them more now than I did when I was a kid. Whenever I go to Disney, my favorite treat to splurge on is their Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treat, dipped in chocolate and covered in sprinkles. Some people have their Dole Whips, I have my Rice Krispie Treats. If you've ever made Rice Krispie Treats at home, you know they're a crowd pleaser without too much effort. Inspired by my favorite Disney treat, I decided to upgrade my homemade treats, and now I'm sharing my method with you! You can make these for any occasion, not just Christmas, by switching out your cookie cutter and sprinkles.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 5 ½ cups of mini marshmallows
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 large bowl
- Your favorite holiday cookie cutters
- Melting chocolates
- And decorative sprinkles
Instructions
- Microwave 3 tbsp butter on high for 45 seconds or until melted
- Add butter to marshmallows, tossing to coat
- Microwave marshmallows for 90 seconds, stirring halfway through
- Add cereal immediately and mix well
- Press into a greased baking sheet as evenly as possible and cool completely
- Use your favorite cookie cutters to cut the treats into shapes
- Dip shapes into melted chocolate (I use white chocolate so the sprinkle color really shines through) and then immediately dip into sprinkes or sanding sugar
- Serve at room temperature
