After several months of work, and an entire year where we just ignored the website altogether (in our defense, there was a lot going on in December 2020…), we have redesigned our site to be more intuitive, helpful, and put the spotlight back on where it really should belong: you! Here is a short rundown of the changes you’ll find:
Mobile Friendly
The largest percentage of our traffic comes from mobile devices, and we’re anticipating even more growth in this respect in 2021. We took a mobile-first approach to our redesign to ensure that when you’re scrolling on your phone, you get the same responsive experience as you would looking at a desktop browser.
Video Content
We’ve heard your feedback and know that you want to see your potential new ugly Christmas sweater in action, so we’ve done just that! Every one of our product listings showcases that style of sweater not just in photo form, but also a fast-moving video to allow you to see the product in motion.
Unisex Sizing
Call it unisex, gender neutral, or whatever you want, we’ve thrown out the traditional men’s and women’s departments and decided to display our sweaters for what they were designed to be: for everyone. Our size chart will help you pick out the right size for you, but the basic rule of thumb is to buy your usual size for a relaxed fit or size down for a slimmer fit.
Sarah & Tyler Galore
No, you’re not imagining things, there are only two faces on our website, and they’re ours. Why? Well, first of all, we’re a small business and, like so many others, 2020 was very rough for us, so we couldn’t afford to hire models. Secondly, we’re still in the middle of the pandemic, and with a toddler to protect, we weren’t comfortable having a bunch of people over to get a lot of content at one time, as we’ve done in the past. So we rolled up our knitted sleeves and did it ourselves. While we’re not professional models, we had a lot of fun with it, and I think we even sensed a little bit of a spark between us… ;)

Like I said at the top, we wanted this website to be more than just a place to buy ugly Christmas sweaters, but a resource that you could keep coming back to in order to plan your holiday season. This year, we’ll be giving out free digital downloads, like Christmas party invitation templates, Christmas recipe cards, shopping lists, and more, and our blog will be focused less on this company and more about tips, tricks, and hacks for the holiday season. We can’t wait for you to see what we’ve got in store for you!

We have been selling Christmas sweaters for years, but up until now, we’ve only been collecting reviews on our marketplace accounts, like Amazon. But now we’ve not only imported some of our existing reviews so you can see real people’s feedback on our products, but you have the ability to leave your own review once you’ve purchased a sweater off the website directly!
What hasn’t changed?
Don’t worry, not everything is different here at Ugly Christmas Party. You’ll still get free shipping in the US with every order. Every single sweater style still sizes up to 4XL. And most importantly, our sweaters continue to be high-quality, 100% knit sweaters with original designs that are just as memorable as you are. Our new 2021 collection will launch on October 11th, and I’ll be introducing the new designs here in the coming weeks. However, every sweater is live and available for pre-order now!
