Tyler and I are in search of the Ultimate Holiday drink. We've scoured the internet looking for recipes to try, and have narrowed it down to a select few. Hopefully at the end of this series we will find what we'll be serving on December 25th!
Tyler's favorite holiday drink is eggnog (more on that later), and mine is the mimosa, so we decided to start with this recipe for Orange Creamsicle Mimosas, from Crunch Creamy Sweet.
In trying this drink, we halved the original recipe as there were only two of us. Here are our thoughts.
The Pros:
- Easy to make
- Only needed a few, common ingredients
- Tasted like a creamsicle!
The Cons:
- The heavy cream never fully integrated into the drink, which made it look like it had little particles floating around, which wasn't very appetizing
- A regular mimosa is a lot less work and not as heavy
In the end, Tyler gave the Orange Creamsicle Mimosa a 2, while I gave it a 3. For me, it was fine, I would just prefer a regular mimosa.
